Fresh Operations provides earthworks and excavation for homeowners, builders and commercial projects in Queenstown. We handle site clearing, building pad excavation, foundation groundwork, material removal and compacted base preparation, with plant selected to suit the access and scale of the work.
Residential earthworks
Prepare a section for a new home, garage, driveway or outdoor area. We can excavate, remove excess material and bring in the agreed basecourse or topsoil.
Builder & commercial support
Groundwork for staged construction, including footing excavation, backfill and coordination with the builder and other trades.
Restricted access
Smaller excavators for sites where space is limited. Send the access width, overhead restrictions and photos so we can assess what will work.
Working across the Queenstown district
We service Queenstown, Frankton, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes, Jack’s Point, Hanley’s Farm and Arthurs Point, with work further afield by arrangement. Travel and plant requirements are confirmed for each job.
Planning your earthworks
What do you need to price an excavation job?
Send the site location, plans if available, approximate area and excavation depth, photos, access width and preferred timing. Let us know whether material needs removing and whether new aggregate is required.
Can you remove spoil and supply basecourse?
Yes. Excavation can be coordinated with tipper cartage and supply of basecourse, aggregate or screened topsoil. Quantities, disposal requirements and access are assessed with the job.
Do you prepare driveways and concrete slabs?
We provide excavation, subgrade preparation, basecourse placement and compaction. See our driveway and concrete preparation services for more detail.
Can you help with trenches and retaining-wall backfill?
We provide service trench excavation and drainage groundwork, as well as retaining-wall excavation and backfill. Specialist trade, engineering and approval requirements are confirmed for each project.
What happens if rock or unexpected ground is found?
Ground conditions, buried services and access can affect scope and cost. We discuss the pricing approach and assumptions before starting, and agree how unexpected work will be handled.
